Geohazard Mapping

Geohazard Mapping

We undertake geohazard mapping as part of the risk assessment which ultimately leads to a geotechnical risk register incorporating design and construction control measures. The purpose is to determine the susceptibility of a project site to natural hazards such as the stability of a slope and to inform the design and construction team.

Geohazard mapping of a project site is undertaken by experienced geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists, who study aerial photographs, study detailed topographical maps, walk the site mapping salient geomorphological features and collate the information as a mapped exercise where hazard zonation is applied based on pre-determined parameters.
